Sunday Services

There are two services celebrated at All Saints on Sundays. The early service starts at 8:00 am, and tends to be fairly quiet and formal. The latter service, starting at 9:30 am, tends to be less so. There is also a Healing Service on Wednesday nights, starting at 6:30 pm. All services follow Rite II Eucharist of the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer. Rite II uses contemporary language.

Christian Education (Sunday School) for Grades 1~12 is held during the 9:30 am service during the school year. There are classrooms located downstairs from the Hall. The teachers generally prepare something appropriate to that particular week's gospel lesson. An usher will come and get the classes during the Passing of the Peace (just before the Eucharist) so that the kids can share in the Eucharist.

There is a nursery adjacent to the classrooms where infants may be watched so that parents may participate in the service. There is also a small "Chapel School" where kids not yet in school may participate in age-appropriate lessons and crafts, under the guidance of teachers.

The Eucharist

Communion is a central part of the service. In the Episcopal Church, all baptised Christians are welcome, and indeed encouraged to fully participate. Both bread and wine is used as part of the Eucharist, offered as Parishioners kneel at the altar rail. Parishioners may stand and receive, as is their wish.  Of course, the elements may be brought to the pew for those persons not able to participate at the altar rail.

As part of the Communion, while both bread and wine is offered, Parishioners may choose to receive only the bread. There is nothing unusual about this; you will undoubtedly encounter others who choose to participate in this manner.

During the Eucharist, our Organist will play a gentle and quiet song of worship, and Parishioners are encouraged to sing along. Sometimes, he will play a classical guitar. There may also be an accompaniment with our Choir Director singing solo.

Prayer is a vital aspect of our life together at All Saints. While bread and wine is being offered at the altar rail, you will find two people who have a Prayer Ministry calling, and they willingly offer individual and personalized prayer for anyone who wishes this. Simply approach either one (there is a man and a woman) and they will ask to hear your prayer concerns. They keep all requests strictly confidential; their intentions are to lift the concerns to Jesus in prayer.
