Word From Our Rector...

Welcome to the fullness of fall.  The leaves are just beginning to show different colors.  Everywhere is back to school shopping deals.  New school year = new experiences for our youth and the return to a regular schedule for teachers.  I would bid your prayers for both students and teachers as the new year of learning begins.  

September also means a new school year for our Sunday School!  Sunday School is age appropriate learning of the Bible.  It is Christian Formation.  We have things set up to receive all the children of the parish into our Sunday School beginning September 12th.  Thanks to some dedicated volunteers the Sunday School hallway has been repainted and new bulletin boards grace the wall.  We have been hard at work getting organized for the fall.  Also this fall will be opportunities for Adult Christian Formation.  Jack and Emily will continue to introduction to Bible group called "Bible for Dummies".  Wednesday evenings from 7:30 - 8:30 I will be leading a study of the Lectionary Texts for the following Sunday.  We will be using "Living the Good News", the adult version of the same curriculum used Sunday School. This is an opportunity to study our Bible readings before the worship on Sunday to gain a deeper understanding of the texts.

 Also, I want to invite any adults who have not been Baptized and/or Confirmed into or Received into the Episcopal Church consider Confirmation Formation for Confirmation.  I will design a class specifically for the adults who step forward to declare their faith in Christ in Baptism and/or formally become members of the Episcopal church. I want to hear from you!  Pray and see if this is something God wants for you and is calling you to receive.  For a small parish Christian Education opportunities abound!  Grab your Bible and open your heart and mind to God's Holy Word.
