Men's Cursillo Weekend

A renewal retreat for men will be held on April 8~11, 2010 at the Marist House in Framingham. The weekend is free to participants, and is a wonderful chance to kickstart and learn about your faith, renew your Spirit, and have a lot of fun doing so. Speak to Rev. Patti if you are interested in an application to attend.

"Second Collection"

One of the traditional Lenten disciplines is called "almsgiving." This means giving to the poor in an extra measure. We have a unique opportunity to practice almsgiving this year. We are asking that on each Sunday during Lent we strive to make a "second" collection which is solely designated to go to relief in Haiti through the Episcopal Relief and Development. There are labeled baskets at the back and side door entrances to the Sanctuary for this offering. Please be generous as the need is great.

Reconciliation

The Rite of Reconciliation, known more commonly as Confession, is always available to anyone who so desires to receive it. Especially during this Lenten season are you invited and encouraged to consider experiencing this Rite as a preparation for Easter. The liturgy for this can be found in the Book of Common Prayer on pages 446~452. People are urged to pray and consider if God is calling you to receive this Sacrament. Feel free to contact Rev. Patti to discuss a time to meet.

Good Friday Prayer Vigil

As is the custom each year at All Saints we are holding our Good Friday Prayer Vigil. For the entire evening and into Saturday until noon, Parishioners will be deep in prayer, Godly meditation, and scriptural reading as a Lenton vigil. People are encouraged to sign up for an hour slot. The Vigil is held in the Sanctuary. There is a sign-up sheet on the door leading into the hall. Sign-up with a friend if you wish.

Long Island Homeless Shelter

I have delivered another load of clothing to the Homeless Shelter for Men, located on the islands in Squantom (Quincy/Wollaston area). The director, John Comaschi was most appreciative of our efforts to think of them. There is a dire need for clothing, as well as personal toiletries and food, and the response to his solicitations has been quite minimal from many.

I personally want to thank All Saints for coming through time and again with much generosity to my requests for help. Our Parish family has a very loving and kind spirit.

I plan to expand the clothing drive to other churches, mostly those who I have an association with via Cursillo or Happening. I am always willing to arrange to get donations. Anyone interested in giving new or used clothing, or new socks or underwear, please use the contact link below to send me a message. Thank you.
